Reports on academic and research standings of Purdue

Dear fellow Purdue alumni and friends in Hong Kong,

Greetings! I would like to take this opportunity to refer you to an interesting report that focuses on universities’ potential role in regional economic development, introduced to us by our Purdue President, Dr Martin Jischke.

The report, which you can download from the following hyperlinks, “Accelerating Economic Development through University Technology Transfer,” was commissioned by the state of Connecticut:

http://www.innovationassoc.com/docs/CT_NatRpt.pdf (full report)
http://www.innovationassoc.com/docs/CT_NatRpt.ExSumm.pdf (executive summary)

The report studied the success of ten universities, including Purdue, that have been extraordinarily successful in generating new commercial licenses and business startups, along with other distinguished schools such as Stanford, MIT, Carnegie-Mellon, and England’s Cambridge University.

This adds to the distinctions earned by Purdue in recent months, like the US News & World Report survey ranking Purdue’s pharmacy, engineering and management programs among the top graduate programs in the US:
